First class Bsc (Hons) Applied Biomedical Science graduate currently working as a Biomedical Scientist within NHS Forth Valley’s Haematology and Blood Transfusion Laboratories.Spent 15 weeks in an NHS Laboratory gaining real-world experience on operations. During this time I completed my IBMS registration portfolio.Practical work during study and work experience has meant gaining knowledge of GLP and the ability to work to a high degree of accuracy. In my final year, I undertook honours project which looks at the potential for macrophages driving therapy resistance in Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML). This project involved techniques such as flow cytometry, FACS, cell culture, BCA assay and processing of blood products (buffy coats).Developed a range of attributes during employment and study such as being able to work in a demanding, fast paced environment. Strong academic record and passionate about the sector and a career in STEM with a focus in Haematology and Transfusion Science
