I am currently pursuing an Honours degree in Computer Science at University College Dublin. I have been selected to be a Peer Mentor and Access Leader in UCD. As an Access Leader I work with the UCD Access & Lifelong Learning centre as a student ambassador helping aspiring students who, like myself, do not fit the traditional model to realise their potential to be enrolled in UCD and pursue a degree. This includes HEAR/DARE, Mature Students and Open Learning. Thus far I have learned C, C++, Java, HTML, Javascript, PHP, Scheme and SQL to various levels of proficiency, my skills are foremost in Java. In the coming academic year I will be learning Ruby as part of my course and plan to learn Python on my own time.I also have a strong background in high level customer service.Specialities: Software EngineeringProblem SolvingSystems AnalysisCustomer ServiceProcess flow analysisTrainingI have been awarded the following scholarships in recognition of my high academic standard and dedication:- UCD Cothrom na Féinne scholarship.Awarded in first year by the UCD foundation, one of approximately ten available for first year students of all schools within UCD.- HEA 1916 Leaders and Learners Bursary. Awarded in second year by minister for higher education Mary Mitchell O'Connor, one of only eight such scholarships allocated for UCD students of all years. The financial support element replaced that of the previously awarded scholarship.
