I have been employed on a consultancy basis with the client's live support team since May as head of the performance team. The team is responsible for the system performance and availablity of several of the client’s key systems. This includes the main health insurance product and other subsidiary systems. The team trouble shoots live support issues regarding overnight batch performance and online system performance. I also have initiated and implemented various system improvements… Show more I have been employed on a consultancy basis with the client's live support team since May as head of the performance team. The team is responsible for the system performance and availablity of several of the client’s key systems. This includes the main health insurance product and other subsidiary systems. The team trouble shoots live support issues regarding overnight batch performance and online system performance. I also have initiated and implemented various system improvements including Archival of very large data volumes, improved Oracle parameter values and better reporting on the batch. I have also been working with the business on the definition and management of internal SLAs with relation to system availability and data currency. I have recently completed a proposal with regard to Upgrading Oracle from 8i to 10g. Show less

I worked in Quest Computing Ltd. from 1995 until April 2008 in a number of roles ranging from software engineer, team leader, project manager, technical architect, product manager, business analyst and implementations Manager. I was a member of the board of management of Quest. The emphasis of my role shifted along this list of roles as the years passed but I always maintained a significant technical hands-on element.
