My duties here was serving customers, handling money of different currencies, writing dockets, running the shop and looking after younger members of staff.

This was a competition run by Orangebox, where we had to redesign a new work space for them but to incorporate the natural outdoor world. To come up with our design we used the following steps- Ethnographic Research We interviewed people who worked in an modern office environment and people who worked out doors to get an experience for both worlds. We the did field research in these areas to find more clues that would not be apparent in the interviews. - Idea Generation Using the research came up with ideas that fitted the problems that the people wanted to be solved. By taking all the negative points and turning them into a positive to enrich their working experience. - Sketch DevelopmentWe then started to develop sketches of new water features that would calm the workers with the tranquil sounds and eventually this was turned into a new peaceful water landscape that acted also as a modern water cooler as the normal water cooler is extremely outdated. - Prototype PhaseThis is were we took or designs and started to test materials, their shapes and their limits until we created the perfect model.- Product Boards Once we had or final natural water cooler, we had to create A1 sized product boards describing or brand and our thinking behind our creation and send it back to Orangebox.

This was a small work experience opportunity that I participated in during TY in secondary school.Seagate is a massive company and I love computers and very interested in the hardware behind them. Here I was first introduced to Solidworks and haven't stopped using it since. Also I seen the scale of how a company like this works, from the nano-meters of the pieces they make to the large operation they have over the globe. I learned a lot from the short times I was there and knew I wanted to go down this field was it is the future but through design.
