Moving back into a sales orientated role, working closely with our account management team, I am part of the onboarding team which is the first line of contact for contractors needing to use a payroll provider for their work.Offering specialist advice around IR35 legislation and different options available, I help contractors make the best decision for handling their pay.

A number of contract workers will complete and initial registration form for an umbrella company without ever completing their registration in full or actively using the service. In this role I have been working with these contract workers to guide them through the next steps following the initial registration process, ensuring they remain with us when their contract begins.Another key component of the role is to follow up with new clients after a few weeks of service, taking feedback to ensure our service is the best it can be. This role also allows me to work with our clients with the aim of keeping them with us for the full length of long-term contracts, or retaining those on short-term contracts as they move between roles. In the time that this role has been open, we have found it to be a successful venture for the business, with our retention percentage of new sign-ups showing to be significantly higher than projections showed before the role was introduced, when compared with the same time period last year. A number of contractors I was in contact with went on to urge agencies they had found roles through to use our service for their payroll, overcoming previously set Preferred Supplier Lists and leading to us being added as a preferred supplier to many, allowing further growth through new contractors being introduced to us through these expanding relationships.
