At Code Ninjas Hillsboro, kids learn to code by building their very own video games. They gain problem solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment. Our flexible coding programs are fun for kids and make it easy on parents with convenient hours on weeknights and weekends.

• Founded the kindergarten through 6th grade STEAM based garden program at Ladd Acres Elementary.• Wrote a comprehensive garden curriculum that utilized core STEAM concepts with a focus on providing as many pathways to accessing content as possible.• Provided pedagogical training to instructional assistants so they could successfully implement lessons that I created.• Implemented, monitored, and assessed lessons to approximately 530 students monthly with the help of the instructional assistants.• Supervised student volunteers in the garden during recesses.

• Attended monthly meetings with other STEM coordinators and provided input regarding the direction of STEM for our district.• Designed and implemented an after school Garden Club.• Facilitated a Lego Robotics club.• Designed the curriculum for an afterschool coding club and STEM art club.• Assisted with the after school club student assignments in order to increase the participate rate of students in STEM clubs.• Maintained records of student participation in STEM clubs.• Monitored spending of school STEM funds and provided input on future investments.

• Developed and implemented daily lessons encompassing a range of skill building activities in the four areas of language learning: Speaking, Writing, Reading, and Listening.• Provided training and developed lessons for ESL assistants to coincide with my instruction.• Implemented Woodcock-Muñez Language Survey to incoming students to assess English Language proficiency. • Evaluate students regularly and adjust instruction to meet the needs of students. • Managed caseload of 80-100 students to ensure that there is an appropriate placement in an ESL small group, instructional accommodations in the regular classroom, and communicate with parents and teachers about the students’ progress.• Provided reading instruction via the Lanaguage! Program to the level 1-2 English Language Learners in 4th – 6th grade. • Developed and Facilitated Workshops on English Language Acquisition, Classroom Accommodations, and assisting English Language Learners.
