Film curator/archivist, specializing in experimental animation, Visual Music and abstract media. Author, editor of Oskar Fischinger book (2013). Curator/archivist, Oskar Fischinger Raumlichtkunst installation, shown at Whitney Museum,, Palais de Tokyo, Tate Modern, other venues. Publish, curate, present, distribute and consult on experimental film and Visual Music for numerous institutions, and produce DVD compilations of artists' films. Serves as consultant for media in museum exhibitions for clients including The Guggenheim, New York; LACMA, Hirshhorn Museum, Washington DC and other venues; consultant to Terrence Malick for Tree of Life feature film, and consultant to John Cage Trust. Consultant to Fischinger Trust 1997-2016.Keefer curates and presents film programs and lectures at museums, cultural centers and archives worldwide, including Tate Modern London, British Film Institute, Whitney Museum NY, LA County Museum of Art, MOCA LA, Lincoln Center NY, ZKM Karlsruhe, Len Lye Centre, Queensland Gallery of Modern Art Australia, Redcat Theatre LA, San Diego Museum of Art. Guest lecturer at institutions such as Oxford University, Trinity College Dublin, University of Southern California, UCLA, SCI-Arc Los Angeles, Cal Arts, Goldsmiths London. Previously Visiting Faculty at Cal Arts, teaching History of Experimental Animation. Served as Preservationist and/or Preservation Supervisor for dozens of short avant-garde films by artists including Oskar Fischinger, Jordan Belson, John and James Whitney, Jules Engel, Harry Smith, Charles Dockum, Jud Yalkut, Mary Ellen Bute, Hy Hirsh and many more.
