Licensed ParamedicVarious Companies Over Several Years Dec 1996 - Aug 2006I worked as a Lead Paramedic for a few different companies during my time on a 911 Ambulance. This position I was responsible for patient care in many different settings including major traumatic events as well as transfer of seriously ill or dying patients. In addition to my medical skills and knowledge I interacted with people of all walks of life honing my communication skills as well as demonstrating empathy and understanding. As a Paramedic I also was responsible for maintaining order and control in a sometimes chaotic and fast changing environment. Keeping the ambulance fully stocked with required and necessary supplies was also a huge part of this position. Being able to accurately document all aspects of each individual call was required in order to have a smooth transition for my patients from emergency care to the next level of care to be provided for them. Another aspect of my position as a Paramedic was knowing and following rules and laws regarding emergency medical service including the very crucial HIPAA law requiring patient confidentiality.
