I am a Software Engineer in the Weapons department of our Software Development department, AFMS (ASRC Federal Missions Solutions). In this role, I am tasked with maintaining and developing the software for various weapons systems on Navy battleships. My department focuses specifically on the processing to determine when and how the system will engage incoming threats. When working on software change requests, it is imperative that we follow the requirements as written by our clients' System Engineers. As a result, most of my work involves cross-functional collaboration between my colleagues and engineers from our clients' Weapons departments.Our changes go through rigorous testing to ensure we meet client expectations with every delivery. I verify that my work passes L1, L2, and L3 testing throughout the various stages of development. Additionally, I support periodic regression testing for our regularly delivered products to provide input and perspective from a Software Engineer standpoint.

As an IT consultant, I provided fast and effective technical support for our clients on a case-by-case basis. I assessed the priority of all incoming tickets and fielded them accordingly. Some clients had their own internal IT department to assist their users, in which case we only assisted with tickets that required Tier 2 & Tier 3 escalation. For other users, we functioned as the primary point of contact for all Tech Support.In my role I learned how to create and maintain users in Microsoft's Active Directory. I was able to reset passwords and lock/unlock accounts as needed. I assisted with maintaining client databases and developing new queries to cut down search times and improve quality of work. Using automated reporting tools, I was also able to provide detailed reports for executives to help make more informed business decisions.

At Rutgers OIT, I provided on-site support for students doing work at the campus computer labs. My daily tasks included doing hourly rounds to ensure all computers were active and functioning, maintaining an organized cleaning schedule, keeping the printers stocked with paper and toner, and helping students with their computer questions.In my role, I also served on the Residential Network team (ResNet), which involved surveying dorms and on-campus apartments to ensure that Wi-Fi signal strength was up to standard. During these missions, I also helped users connect their devices to the Wi-Fi using proprietary security profiles.
