I am passionate about connection. I enjoy discovering new ways for my students to connect with each other and with their own communities and to use those connections and learning experiences to enrich their academic path. Currently, I am creating a cross-curricular competency-based learning model that will allow students to collaborate with each other, build on their own interests and passions, share in the wealth of each other's knowledge and skills and showcase their achievements. I have embraced the adventure, in this stage of my teaching career, to 'boldly go where [few] have gone before' seeking out new horizons and possibilities for education in the cloud.

As Humanities lead I am responsible for leading and mentoring the teachers in my department. I hold monthly meetings to discuss and implement curriculum changes and best teaching practices. I also write and update curriculum for English and Communications courses. As Coordinator of Innovations Onlime I assess and invite students who want to be in the program, coordinate lessons with my partner science teacher, and mentor students in their humanities subject projects. As online English Language Arts teacher, I teach high school students online, mark their assignments and offer feedback that I hope will help them improve their skills, and prepare them for their provincial exams. I have over 100 students in my care who are working asynchronously. I try to stay in touch with all of them on a weekly basis.

At Advanced Learning Academy in Saudi Arabia I taught Social Studies and History in the girls school - grades 7 - 10. My students were mainly Saudi citizens. The school was one of the first Saudi educational initiatives sponsored in Saudi Arabia to provide international curriculum and standards for their children. Its goal was (and I assume still is) to be the first IB school in Saudi Arabia.

Search International is an agency that agents primary and secondary teachers who wish to teach abroad. I found my job in Saudi Arabia and my teaching contract was brokered through this agency. I highly recommend it to teachers who want to teach abroad.

At King's School, I taught multi-grades and multi-subjects. I spend half my time co-teaching a mixed grade 6/7 classroom (writing, science, social studies, and art) and the other half teaching split classes of 9/10 and 11/12 English Language Arts, History courses, and Drama. I wore a lot of hats and carried a lot of bins from class to class!
