I specialise in the IT infrastructure side of project management, from simple office moves to complex high availability data centre moves, with new build and refurbishment of office and commercial space forming the majority of my business. Outside of the core services of Consultancy and Project Management alive IT also provides IT support and technology advice to small business and independent sole traders; My diverse corporate and technology background allows me to offer consultancy to small and medium business on general IT systems, telecommunication solutions, print management and other software systems be they hosted or local.
Program Manager
Portfolio / Program Lead
I hold responsibility for the portfolio of projects and programmes being delivered by a squad of mixed technical and delivery resources spanning multiple continents. I own the delivery relationship with the customer and am the escalation point for all delivery matters. Through the provision of robust and regular portfolio reports and governance meetings I ensure that all contracted services and project deliverables are tracking against plan with the support from my PMO Manager. Prior to this internal promotion I was a Programme Manager with day to day responsibility for business-critical delivery of a new ACI centric large-scale infrastructure CNI Data Centre Environment for a leading energy supplier; this was a 18 month, £multi-million programme and at its peak I was responsible for the leadership of an 18 person strong squad of professionals forming a multi-disciplinary technical delivery team.
Project Manager
My role at Quilter within the Group Facility Management Team has seen me take ownership and responsibility for end-to-end delivery of various projects across the estate in conjunction with FM and Technology. I have managed the renovation and refurbishment of 180k sqft of office space, relocating teams, systems, technology and building core functions alongside updating HVAC, lighting, fire safety and respective control systems. I’ve taken an active part as the client representative for FM within a programme to acquire and refit a new 100k sqft office that consolidated multiple sites in central London, taking into consideration business operations, IT networks, systems and Building functions. I have managed the de-commissioning of the legacy sites across London during the CoVid-19 Pandemic, which resulted in on-time and complete withdrawal from site in later September. Alongside my project role I have been instrumental in working with local teams to understand and deploy “CoVid secure” status to all regional locations. This has allowed a staggered and safe return to work for employees and contractors.
Technical Infrastructure Project Manager
My role within the Group Technology function gave me responsibility across Retail, Commercial and Residential Developments. During my time here I was involved in a number of scheme designs for commercial property taking consideration to; WiFi, Mobile IOT and general connectivity options for single and multiple tenants, alongside core building services. A notable project on the retail side was the deployment of digital signage across internal and external retail park locations, including provision of WAN connectivity or extension of LAN service to signage locations and physical install of the solutions. Another Retail initiative was the development of a consumer Wi-Fi offering, working with a team of internal and external experts we developed the solution using cisco Meraki at the edge as well as a converged core network of cisco Catalyst grade network hardware. This in turn drove the strategy for delivery and deployment. I rolled out 3 blueprint retail sites; Meadowhall, Drake Circus and Ealing Broadway, setting the standards for future rollout across the estate. This resulted in us being able to run a tender for the deployment of this into the commercial property side (Broadgate, Paddington Central, Regents Place).
Senior Technical Project / Program Manager
Reporting directly to the CTO I led our internal team of technical SME’s; and together with several incumbent IT service delivery partners, I delivered a program of works spanning multiple operating companies, locations, and transport sectors. Projects within the portfolio included deployment of office 365 to over 10k users, Deployment of Wi-Fi in multiple locations, along with core network hardware upgrades and security improvements to introduce resilience and improve business continuity across the core network of London mainline stations. My largest single program of works was the decommissioning of a legacy office location and datacentre containing upwards of 300 staff and 25 years of inherited IT systems. A new office was commissioned in central London for the core administration staff and other, more operationally focused staff were relocated to various sites around the network; With 14 racks of critical operational hardware to relocate without affecting live services, planning and teamwork was key: A lot of rail systems have interdependencies to external parties off the Go-Ahead network, and as we were spreading this hardware out over multiple locations it was key to have a confident team in place with some very robust pre-requisite testing and fall back plans in force.
Technical Project Manager
I was lead resource for IT specifications and installations across the various projects in flight with the parent company GB Buildings. I fulfilled the roles of consultant, pre-sales and project delivery manager which gave me valuable experience of being supplier side of the project process. Working on predominately new build or refurbishment projects I had to become aware of regulatory constraints and adapt my style to suit the industry. The largest project under my direct control included design and installation of site-wide Wi-Fi for a new build accommodation campus. This included cisco catalyst core and edge switching and distribution. By effective management of external suppliers, I ensured that the external WAN links were available when required allowing the Client IT team to bring the network online. I also assisted with the specification, tender process, and delivery of the AV technology element of the project. Scheduling and resource management were key to a successful delivery on this large and complex site.
Senior Project Manager
My primary role here was onsite Project Manager during the build and fit-out of the Shard. I had responsibility for management and delivery of 2 core building services DAS (Multi Operator Distributed Antenna System) and PMR (Private Mobile Radio). During the final stages I also was responsible for working with some key tenants on their own staff and public IT services. The DAS system consisted of a basement operator room with fully resilient power and data feeds, fibre links to digital repeaters throughout the building core and in turn feeding a carefully planed network of ceiling antennas. The PMR technically was a similar system but had the complexity of needing to work with Ofcom, local council and emergency services to ensure compatibility and minimal disturbance to other systems nearby.
International It Project Manager
I started at RCCL with the technical responsibility to move 2 regional offices into the new UK headquarters. I progressed from UK, to European, to Global projects and over the 6 years I opened or moved 14 offices, all over the world from Sydney to South America, including 3 in China. I also managed the IT side of the launch events for several new ships, often getting onto the ships while they were still under construction and assisting with commissioning of the guest systems onboard. In my final year I played a leading role in the full integration of a new company that RCCL purchased and took full responsibility for all legacy systems to be migrated or merged into the global corporate solutions.
Various Roles
Coca-Cola Enterprises have multiple locations around the UK from manufacturing plants to regional sales centres and a head office in Uxbridge. I held various roles at CCE initially starting in a field sales role before progressing rapidly though the channels and into head office; here I became a regional trainer responsible for the IT systems training of the South, Central and Wales and West regions, following success in this role I became part of the newly created e-Business team. Here I worked with the team to successfully improve the electronic distribution of data throughout the business enabling executives at all levels to make informed decisions. • Led the design development of salesforce data tool for UK sales team• Provided requirements gathering and project management to the e-business team • Created and delivered IT Training to multiple business teams across the regions• Managed IT Hardware deployment and provided 1st line user support for multiple regions• Delivered targeted sales promotions into educational and commercial facilities • Assisted small retailers in sales promotions to drive and grown their soft drink sales tailored soft drink solutions
Reservations And Breakdown Agent
I worked within the call centre taking inbound calls with a view to converting into sales After exceeding my targets I was promoted to a team leader, whose responsibilities included handling customer complaints and staff scheduling Success meant a promotion into the 24hr team where we handled breakdown calls, chauffer drive and provided an out of hours service
