Urban Services YMCA exists to serve the youth and families of Oakland’s most urban and impoverished schools and communities. Urban Services YMCA provides programs and services to educate, engage, and empower people of all ages in order to nurture the potential of every child, improve the nation’s health and well-being, and provide support to our schools and communities. At the Y I was responsible for the efficient operation of three YMCA facilities. I oversaw the day to day operations and ensured that facilities were within compliance with local safety regulations. I analyzed, evaluated, developed systems, implemented work flow and administrative operations to improve internal and external payment processing, payroll, human resources, information technology and other business procedures.

Child Haven, Inc., a nonprofit corporation established in 1983 provides intensive therapeutic mental health and developmental services for children and their families with the belief that early intervention, education, and targeted professional services help children heal and families thrive. At Child Haven, I secured $700,000 in government contracts by preparing State of California Office of Violence Prevention Child Abuse Treatment (CHAT) and Medicaid Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnosis, and Treatment (EPSDT) grant proposals . I participated in decision making processes and served a a trusted advisor to the Executive Director in planning, researching, and developing the strategic plan.
