At AllianceBernstein, I worked with a team of 5 traders to buy and sell Municipal Bonds for clients’ portfolios and the firms funds. Personally responsible for trading myself and with my team18 different funds, 13 separately managed accounts (SMA), intermediate duration accounts, and short duration accounts. One example of a fund I trade for is Bernstein Diversified Municipal Fund (SNDPX and has approx. 5 billion in assets). The AllianceBernstein Municipal Department has over 31 billion in Municipal Bonds under management. I worked with senior portfolio managers, associate portfolio managers, and analysts to effectively analyze strategies in a constantly changing market. I had a pivotal role in the buying of an average 100 to 200 million bonds weekly with an average trade size of over 1 million. I was personally responsible for setting up 3 new sell-side accounts to improve our efficiency in trading. Some of my daily responsibilities included: executing trades based on various accounts and fund’s needs, evaluating and participating in new issues, executing various sales for our individual accounts, reviewing analytic research on municipal issuers, and discussing strategies with the members of our department. At the begining of 2013, I left AllianceBernstein to work at OAI.

I worked as an intern during junior year of college then hired full time after I graduated to be a Junior Salesman and Trader on the Municipal Bonds retail trading desk. My responcibilities included, evaluating, trading on behalf of, and advising clients, searching for opportunities in the municipal bond market, reporting directly to the desk head, assisting with his clients, and maintaining his book of business. I personally exceled in understanding and trading NY, PR, MA, and Build America Bonds. I also helped with managing the new issuance syndicate process for the desk. I built bond ladders and portfolios for the desk and clients. I maintained our inventory to keep traders in sync with market changes and assist traders in fulfilling inquiries and promote various offerings.

I interned on the Municipal Bond trading desk during my junior year summer. As an intern, I was able to learn the business throughout the summer and build a basic understanding of Municipal Trading. I was able to speak with the Brokers at Oppenheimer on a daily basis and build lasting relationships. I also found that I was useful to the desk with my ability to build excel marketing spreadsheets and in turn, increase the revenue for the desk. After my work as an intern, I was hired to work full time after I graduated.

As an intern at OAI, I worked with all members of the company. I helped with various projects and really enjoyed working at the firm. Some work included, creating client presentations and spreadsheets to help analyze potential nonprofit funding. I also researched and prepared reports on the non-profit sector. I attended client meetings to record pertinent information. Lastly, I assisted at Marriott 2007 Gala, which raised over $1 million dollars.
