In this role I was responsible for all aspects of IT strategy, development and services for a USD 1.6 billion business segment of Tyco spanning Korea, Greater China and South East Asia, India, Australia and New Zealand. I lead 110 direct and indirect IT staff. Current projects include: CRM deployment, Interactive Marketing, ERP standardisation and infrastructure consolidation (all of Asia),

Tyco Services is the former name of the Australia - Pac operations of Tyco Fire and Security. 98-01 was a period of rapid growth via acquisition, growing the operations from 500 million to 1 billion USD annual revenues. Key task was to implement a standard set of IT platforms and services to support integration of acquired companies. Implemented PRONTO tier 2 ERP for 1600 concurrent users. Consolidated various IT functions into one cohesive team. SACL was a government business enterprise (run for profit). As the first ever IT manager at the airport i was responsibile for enabling the separation from corporate parent FAC in preparation for eventual privatisation. Implemented common campus networks, email. Implemented data warehouse and business intelligence solutions for enhanced retail analysis. Developed business case for terminal systems upgrade in preparation for 2000 olympics.

FAC was a government business enterprise tasked with development and operation of Australia's major airports. I assumed leadership of the Corporate IS team at a time of turbulance as we prepared to implement the Australian government's direction to privatise airports. Enterprise applications that had been centralised were then shrink wrapped and deployed to individual airports to enable stand-alone operation (the CISR project - it's logo was a pair of scissors!). In 1980 I was one of only 32 Australians to receive scholarship to the Royal Australian Naval college. I trained as a Weapons Electrical Engineering Officer. The Navy was a really interesting 12 years. Highlights included being responsible for the morale, welfare, training and discipline of the sailors in my charge. I got to teach radio electronics to technicians.
