Quickly tossed into an unofficial leadership role, I onboarded quickly and was shipping my first major feature at the beginning of my first school year at PLTW: we migrated to a new End-of-Course Assessment provider. With an immovable deadline, little documentation, and a lot of late nights, I delivered a solid (if not perfect) solution that is still in use as of this writing!I was also excited to be able to be able to leverage my experience with a wonderful javascript client and server PDF library, PDFMake. Using my experience with this tool, I was able to build exactly the EOCA score report the Assessments team requested, in less than a day.This period also saw a large migration of our Authentication provider, requiring moving millions of users to a new platform, in-place, with no meaningful downtime (roughly 6 hours during school year rollover). At the same time as we were doing this, we also tripled our rostering options, launching a Clever integration, as well as student-led registration and enrollment.

Our software, used on such industry-leading conferences as Google I/O, Amazon AWS re:Invent, and the RSA, grew into a suite of connected applications. Showbook, previously our headliner, was joined by an ensemble cast as EventCollab became a platform with innovative features like:* Google Drive integration, to easily share documents, images, and videos and sync them to your desktoptypes corresponding with common Conference tasks (Rigging, Catering, Travel, etc)* A fun spin on Google Circles (Google+ was big at the time!): group people, documents, events, and conversations together in logical groups and prevent caterers from knowing about the secret guest speaker!* A custom Salesforce integration* Live chat across the platform* Per-event and per-circle discussions and file uploads* Later, we reimagined Showbook (creatively called "EventCollab Showbook 2") with a real-time, reactive architecture built on Google Firebase. This version of the software was used directly on Amazon AWS re:Invent 2017I worked very closely with our CTO, James Sumpter, and our frontend developers to extend our software suite. As my role developed, I moved into an unofficial Tech Lead position, helping the team adhere to best practices around REST APIs, security, and web standards.All that to say, my responsibility in this company was building the APIs from scratch, continuing to support them through the life of the company, and building features as dreamed or requested. You might say I made dreams come true.

Architected and implemented Codeigniter-based PHP SAAS App in the Event and Conference space. EventCollab Showbook, built from the ground-up under contract in partnership with a respected Event Production organization, was designed to assist in the scheduling and management of conferences and other events.* EventCollab Showbook: a bespoke scheduling app with Google Calendar integration, custom Event * A billing model focused on events instead of number of users: Event Production bills by event, so we also billed them to match* ECShowbook was a simple concept: being built for Production companies in the Event space, the calendar included a large assortment of custom "blocks" (calendar event types) tracking common Event/Conference needs* A Travel block was used to track per-person Travel In / Travel Out dates, flight times and numbers* Catering tracked Meal, Snack, and Beverage service, times, locations, and (optionally) menus* Showtime blocks handled details around Speakers, Keynotes, etc* In total, Showbook had over a dozen bespoke block types, each tailored made for their purpose and saving setup and maintenance time* And what would a product like this be without reports? Custom filters, PDF generation, custom time ranges, and Mail To actions were also included
