During my second semester of graduate school, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant. I worked with a decision science professor helping teach undergraduate level course along with tutoring undergraduate students. My responsibilities included working both in the classroom and tutor lab helping students in decision science courses. This position helped me improve technical skills as I had to use several programs, such as Microsoft Excel and MiniTab, on a regular basis. Also, I was working with many students at a time, which helped me improve my public speaking skills. I mainly worked with one professor throughout the semester, but I also had to be available if the department needed help with various tasks. This allowed me to improve time management skills, as I still had graduate school work to focus on.

Over the summer of 2016, I was an Intern with Fenix Parts, Inc. I worked alongside the Executive Vice President of Supply Chain doing analytical work. Most of my work consisted of collecting and cleaning data from 14 different auto recycle yards owned by the company. Once the data was clean, I had to conduct various forms of trend analysis (such as, profit analysis and employee turnover analysis) to help explain fluctuations in the business. This position helped me improve my technical skills because I was required to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) on a daily basis. I was also in charge of keeping contact up with 14 General Managers, two Regional Managers and various other Executive Level staff, which helped me gain more knowledge in business communication.
