I was responsible for the promotion of the EWPAA within the timber industry and across the wider building products supply chain. This included the areas of communications strategy (both overarching and relating to specific campaigns), media relations, event preparation and management (nationally and internationally), social media strategy and management, content creation and website management, collateral and promotional product creation, brand management, intellectual property protection and government advocacy work (both at a federal and state level). During my time with the EWPAA, I managed a wide range of projects in collaboration with external agencies, including a complete redesign of the organisation’s website, a review of the organisation’s technical literature library (including writing and redesigning a number of key documents), and the creation and review of key organisational databases (including media databases and an organisation wide review of the main stakeholder database).

With oversight of the day-to-day housekeeping operation, I assigned daily tasks and duties to a team of over 70 employees. This included creating daily task assignments for all positions in the housekeeping department, answering guest inquiries and requests, handling both guest and employee concerns, assisting with seasonal training and liaising with management on daily operational strategies for the department. During my time as Housekeeping Coordinator, our team lifted the Resort’s profile and global recognition in the form of its Forbes Five Star qualification. A notable achievement during my time at the Resort was being recognised for my efforts as Employee of the Month in May 2015.

In addition to the duties listed below under Publicity, I was responsible for facilitating the 2013 and 2014 Student Ambassador Programs, which involved interviewing potential candidates as well as supervising and training successful candidates to effectively represent the organisation. I also supervised a number of interns who assisted in the public relations and marketing functions of the organisation.

I was responsible for a wide range of duties including writing and disseminating media releases, liaising with the media, providing media training to colleagues, creating targeted promotional campaigns for all areas of the organisation, negotiating advertising and paid advertorial, preparing for and running events for the organisation, creating targeted written communications for a wide variety of stakeholders (e.g. website profile text, advertorial text) and creating targeted promotional material for the organisation. I was also responsible for the creation of and writing the organisation’s quarterly e-newsletter. I wrote for the organisation’s various social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) and assisted with both long and short term social media planning.

I worked autonomously to complete the project in the required time frame, reporting any data anomalies to my supervisor upon identification.
