I have thirteen years of consultancy experience supporting clients with research and analysis, monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) and strategy development. During this time, I have worked with a wide range of organisations, running research in a variety of contexts, developing Theories of Change and impact frameworks, designing tools and systems, collecting, and analysing qualitative and quantitative data and communicating impact to stakeholders, whether these be funders, programme users or the broader sector. Clients have been across a range of thematic areas, both in the UK and internationally.Over the years I have developed an interest and expertise in a range of areas including how power and history plays out in and affects research and evaluation, how we make evaluation less about accountability and more about learning and how organisations and individuals learn. As such my practice is committed to designing tools and systems that are fit for purpose, promote learning at their core and acknowledge and try and mitigate power dynamics at play. I work in partnership with clients to ensure my work is embedded and integrated, facilitating group learning, and always try and ground everything in systems thinking to avoid siloes.Prior to going freelance in 2017, I was the Managing Director of both The Social Investment Consultancy (TSIC), a boutique management and strategy consultancy, helping organisations focus and amplify the impact of their social change programmes and Ten Years’ Time which works with individuals and foundations in a variety of areas to help them build grant portfolios to create systemic change.More info: www.clairearnottconsulting.com
