Having spent my whole career in the Payroll industry I am passionate in ensuring payroll is recognised for the profession it is and what it can contribute to it's company and is not just a back office data entry function, proving it's value and demonstrating how much more there is to a successful payroll service than just paying people. Yes, we do do more than just press a button once a month (if I had a pound for every time I have heard that......)I am a huge believer, and am trained in, continual improvement and process mapping which is integral for a successful payroll team and allows for the ability to embrace change and the inevitable reductions in staff with minimum disruption to the service provided.Experienced in leading, managing, training and mentoring teams, including identifying skills gaps, preferred methods of learning and devising training plans accordingly.Payroll Lead in the specification, selection and successful implementation of the new HR/Payroll system - Zellis Resourcelink in 2011, and was highly active in ensuring it remained the best fit for the University's requirements, identifying functionality that would improve processes, as the University's direction evolved, most recently with the introduction of a new company - Solent University Services Limited in 2018.Experience of running of pension awareness seminars and pre-retirement seminars, including writing and delivering presentations to staff on the University pension schemes and planning for retirement, and bringing in industry experts to present on various topics. Solely responsibility for auto re-enrolment. Run Pension one-to-one workshops with employees, helping them understand their pension, doing pension estimates, and looking at ways they can increase their pension, or help them with decisions on their retirement, including early retirement and phased/flexible retirement.
