Experienced Instructor with a demonstrated history of working in the field of Computing Science/Digital Skills and ICT Education at Early years, Primary and Secondary Level. Skilled in the teaching of Computational Thinking, Scratch Coding, Game Development, Multimedia, and Curriculum Development. Strong Education Professional with a MA focused in Online and Distance Education from The Open University. STEM Ambassador work involves organising/attending STEM events throughout Scotland. In addition to my Primary Computing Teaching I am currently Chairperson of the Local Makerspace (T-Exchange Moray) working hard to provide STEM -based opportunities to young people in Moray and surrounding area.     Our Covid-19 3-D Visor ProjectSince late March 2020 we have worked hard 3d printing much needed PPE in the form of Visors, Face Mask Relief Straps and Door Dongles for NHS staff, Care Workers, Childcare Hubs and other hardworking members of our Moray Community. We have now delivered over 3500 3d Printed visors, 2500 face mask relief straps, 1275 single use visors and 620 door dongles to over 170 locations across Moray. More information:- https://www.moraymakerspace.com/covid-19-visor-project/ T-Exchange, Moray Makerspace is a registered Makerspace established eight years ago and currently specialising in a range of technologies including Raspberry Pi, Arduino micro-controllers, 3D printers and Robotics. We have held the status of a Scottish registered charity, since July 2018 with our main charitable objective being the promotion of STEM Education, particularly targeted towards the young people of Moray.During the last year we supported Inverness Science Festival, Ross-Shire Science Festival, RAF Lossiemouth Family Day and Orkney International Science Festival. At each we set up several displays and a range of practical tasks. In November 2023 T-Exchange/ Moray Makerspace organised a 3D printer event @St Giles Centre,Elgin, showcasing our own self-built printers, 3d animal shapes, machine parts and a range of learning materials. In the future we plan to attend several science festivals including Inverness, Ross-shire and Orkney, providing educational displays and hands-on activities. At the latter several of our members will be working with local schools to provide practical age-appropriate workshops including computer coding (Scratch and Microbits).

    Coderdojo Moray started with an enthusiastic group of twelve 12-17 year olds in January 2014. The theme of the first meeting was 'Designing a website'. A 9-11 year old club started in April 2014. Setting and organising this group has formed part of my ongoing STEM Ambassador work. Currently the group has regular members ranging in age from 7-17 years. We usually meet monthly during term time at the Local College. In addition we also attend local science fairs and community events.
