Board level (CFO and COO) consultancy at Board level for two USA focussed businesses.

Responsibilities included raising >£100m project finance, business strategy and implementation, with a wide-ranging commercial role across the business.

Provided interim support at board level to a variety of businesses in stress, distress and through periods of change. Specialised in cash flow and stakeholder management, as well as operational and financial restructuring. Some of the roles undertaken are set out below. Other roles not listed below include project work such as due diligence and viability.

Derby

Interim support until June 2013 when I was appointed Interim Group CFO. During this period I worked with the Managing Director and Operations Director to bring the Group from losses of c.£5m per annum to a break even position.

London, United Kingdom

Joined to help establish quantum and timing of additional funding requirement, held off any additional funding requirements whilst a buyer was sought. Also led a contract review to establish liabilities, which resulted in sale process becoming a pre-pack. Managed cash and key creditors during this process.

Salisbury, United Kingdom

Managed the treasury function over a number of currencies and worldwide locations.During the period from March to October the bank was repaid in full, a debt reduction of $5.5m.

Bristol, United Kingdom

Wide ranging role that included: Board strategy support; designing and implementing a new monthly MI pack with KPI dashboard; rolling 13 week cash flow forecasting; working capital improvements; WIP training for project managers; HMRC compliance; statutory accounts; and helping the Board restructure the finance team.

Led group treasury throughout the restructuring process, with various levels of funding; managed stakeholders; implemented a CID facility to improve the security position of the lead bank; organised the orderly closure of one of the businesses in the group (including project and WIP wind-down, staff redundancies and compromise agreements); unwound working.

Worked with many companies during time as a Manager in KPMG’s Restructuring practice. Experience as both an Advisory Manager completing Independent Business Reviews and Options Reviews for banks and Insolvency Manager of both administrations and fixed charge receiverships.Insolvency related work included the sale of business and properties, trading.
