I have always been extremely family-oriented. As a kid, I would be content to spend all day every day playing outside with my brothers or doing things with my parents. My mom’s heart for hospitality is one thing that cultivated my love for being home and spending time with my family. She hosted bible studies, various ministry dinners, baby showers, birthday parties, and more. I admire my mom's zeal for gathering people into our home and making them feel comfortable and welcome. I want to have that same impact on people. Being so close to my family inspired my passion for proactively developing and enhancing my relationships.Beginning in middle school, I desired to gather people as my mom did. My first venture was hosting a bible study in my home. This focus on people put me on a path that led to my being Student Council President and serving on the Sustainability Board in high school. In college, it led me to be a Young Life team leader, a Student Recruiter, and a group leader with Onward Ministry. Through improving my time management, social skills, sympathy, compassion, and patience, my relational leadership has continued to mature. This informed my choice to pursue a major in business with a minor in Family Business and Entrepreneurship in the Harbert College of Business. I was able to win a prize for earning the largest amount of money in an Entrepreneurship class where we saw how much we could make from a five dollar bill. After completing my degree, I feel prepared to unite and lead people in my career.My father is an entrepreneur who has owned his own business for 25 years. Growing up with his strong leadership influenced my siblings and me to use our own business careers as platforms to help others to thrive. His work ethic and authenticity and compassion in how he treated people, both in friendships and business relationships, inspires me to treat people accordingly. His life inspires me to not settle for the easy path but create lofty goals and achieve them with determination, developing strong connections along the way. I have formed the strong belief that every work experience, new connection, and new experience is valuable in order to learn a new lesson.
