After graduating from Grand Valley State University in August of 2023 with my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a minor in Spanish, I decided to return to GVSU to pursue my Master of Public Health with a focus on Health Promotion. I wanted to step away from the clinical side of health and learn more about prevention and public health. My undergrad degree instilled in me the value of exercise and nutrition as prevention which provided me with a strong foundation as I entered my graduate program. I have a strong passion for advocating for people with disabilities and have done this work in my previous jobs and internships. I plan to continue this during my education and I intend to learn more ways I can serve this community. Currently, I am an intern at Disability Advocates of Kent County, a local non-profit that provides a wide array of services and resources to local consumers with disabilities. I also have a passion for travel and value fostering a global perspective, so working in the Padnos International Center as a graduate assistant has allowed me to share this passion and support students as they embark on study abroad trips!
