Within the University of Southampton's outreach team, my main focus areas are creating programmes for Year 11 students to aid with the transition to college and university, parental engagement and, most recently, being a part of the Southern Universities Network to create new collaborative materials for use with secondary school IAG programmes about Higher Education. I am also involved with the longitudinal evaluation of the Learn with US programme (widening participation programme for secondary school students)

Houses Of Parliament

I managed the Education Outreach Team to deliver workshops to students from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 5 on the work and role of the Houses of Parliament across the whole of the UK. We also delivered a programme of teacher training and CPD to 1000 trainee teachers and teaching professionals each year through workshops, INSETs, Teacher Seminar Days and the Teacher's Institute Programme, which I instigated. Through this role I created resources, workshops and programmes to help explain the work of the House of Commons and the House of Lords to help engage and enthuse pupils and teachers in this vital area of citizenship education.

I managed the pre-16 education liaison programme within the Marketing Department at the University of Portsmouth, working with primary and secondary schools across Portsmouth and the wider area.This involved creating a pre-16 education programme, from scratch, to include workshops, resources, residentials and the creation of the UP for University membership scheme (previously know as UP for It).
