Teaching Assistant for undergraduate and graduate-level courses at the University of Minnesota. Course topics included: Human Rights Advocacy, The Politics of Public Affairs, and Gender & the Islamic World.

I harnessed University of Minnesota resources to support the development of human rights education programs at four Universities in Antioquia, Colombia. As coordinator for the partnership, I facilitated the creation and distribution of human rights learning modules for Antioquia schools. I also oversaw evaluation and reporting to the funder (USAID). I traveled to Antioquia several times to get to know our partners and their needs and to establish evaluation procedures.

I coordinated a regional coalition of over 50 human rights organizations in the Midwest. As Coordinator, I facilitated collaborations between regional human rights organizations, utilizing human rights research findings to inform advocacy and education. After receiving a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota, I participated in internships with local nonprofit legal firms serving detained immigrants in the Midwest. As Detention Project Intern, I worked primarily with Spanish-speaking immigrants and their families in a paralegal role, gathering case information for attorneys and informing clients about legal proceedings.
