“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much” – Helen KellerGrowing up in a small town in Colorado, my mother was always highly involved with our local government & community organizations, trying to make a positive change for herself and her kids. Her passion for our community and learning has always inspired me and led me to begin my degree at the University of Vermont in Community Development and Applied Economics. Over my time at UVM, my passion for community has only grown. In my majors of Public Communication and Community Entrepreneurship, I have learned the theoretical skills behind community outreach, communication, small businesses, and leadership that I have been able to put into practice everywhere. This has been highlighted in my work at Pure Pop Records, as a UVM Orientation Leader, as a CASE Advancement Intern, as a Complaint Mediator, and as the president of the Pad Project Club at UVM. These experiences have underscored my commitment to building empowered and connected communities.Outside of work and school, I am passionate sustainable fashion - sewing, thrifting, and upcycling. A personal goal of mine is to tackle fast fashion and allow everyone to embrace FUN clothes that are GOOD for the planet. That might take a while…but together it is possible. This interest also has allowed me to I continue to build community in all different ways!As I enter final semester at UVM, I am looking forward to my future to combine my passion for community, learning, and creativity.
