Design research on the impact of climate change on coffee production and coffee-growing communities in Latin America. Collaborated with agriculturalists on-site in the coffee-producing of Jaen and with additional key actors in Lima. Conducted 40+ surveys and semi-structured interviews in Spanish with coffee producers, cooperative leaders, government.

Lead field-based ecology audits of the 16 North Carolina Natural Heritage Area in the 7,000-acre Duke forest. Manage flora and fauna inventory for the Natural Heritage Areas. Coordinate with director for trail rehabilitation planning and execution. Create public education materials.

Atenas, Costa Rica

Worked as a TA for a tropical biology and sustainability studies school in Atenas, Costa Rica. Led students in field research and helped organize field trips across Costa Rica. Conducted field research, namely above-ground carbon sequestration, forestry management, and socioeconomic development. Additionally, executed personal projects on our 3-ha farm.

Boiling Springs, PA

Managed greenhouse irrigation and vegetable seedling care. Inventoried produce and sold weekly at local Farmer’s Market. Organized and lead bimonthly interactive education activities with young adults and children, including a week-long farm camp for at-risk youth.

Directed groups of students in laboratory classroom and field trips, organized transportation. Additionally, I assisted students with homework and projects, individually and in small groups.

Designed and executed curricula pertaining to: forest ecology, outdoor survival skills, camping, and nature appreciation, for groups of girls ages 5 - 14. I worked for the GSHNJ for three consecutive summers.

Monteverde, Costa Rica

Worked on behalf of five regional coffee-producing farms, the local coffee cooperative, and Chamber of Tourism, to develop and produce a guide for improving sustainable practices within the agro-tourism sector. Hosted a workshop for farmers and community members.
