Being a profesional translator from Lebanon, my cultural background has taught me the importance of communication and the fundamental role it plays in our lives. At an early age, I knew I wanted to connect people and cultures and make communication easier one language at a time. The ability to communicate and connect through language as a professional translator has opened a world of possibilities for me. By studying translation, I gained skills that opened the door for me into diverse worlds:- Arabic showed me how cultures can be different and similar at the same time. It is the mother tongue I taught to foreign students back at university.- French made me sophisticated, yet humble. I used it to convey to kids part of the knowledge I gained through the years. It helped me get my very first freelance translation job and landed me a job in Spain.- English made me wise and patient. I use it every day and everywhere to engage with others. With so much nuance in how English is spoken and understood, I am constantly learning. - Spanish was my ticket to the moon. It added experience to my leadership skills and led me to my current role, managing data annotation and transcription projects. Who would have thought that a Lebanese girl would grow up someday to lead teams and projects in a continent so far away from home?
