About Clara Silva
I am a history and political science double major at UC Berkeley. My historical focus is 19th-20th century US and Latin America and my political science focus is comparative politics. I am passionate about discovering how people have asserted and continue to assert their own agency within the political and social systems they have inherited. As an undergraduate researcher, I gained experience conducting literature reviews for historical and policy analyses as part of a larger research project. I also initiated and conducted individual projects. I gained managerial, collaboration, and problem solving skills through my social work as a Youth Specialist for the Employment Development Department. It was incredibly rewarding to help youth find employment and continue their education. Finally, I have museum-specific experience as a curatorial aid for the Carnegie Arts Center. This confirmed my love of research sharing information with the public.I want to work in a place that provides an opportunity to expand my research and problem solving skills, as well as make a meaningful positive impact in my community.
