Figuring out what you want to do with your future is really difficult! For years, I was absolutely convinced that I would be a teacher just like my parents, but once I got to high school, I found an unlimited world of careers and futures out there for me. Even though I don't think I want to be a teacher anymore, I still want to help people and educate others in my career! I am currently interning at Eagle Mountain City for the Teen CERT program, and I'm hoping to realize my dream of helping people everywhere I go! Having taken Emergency Medical Response and Human Development, (both concurrent enrollment classes through Utah Valley University) I'm very interested in learning more about what to do to help others in the event of an emergency. I'm also Math Club president this year (we compete with other math clubs in the school district for prizes), which is a testament to my quick thinking skills and readiness to lead in difficult situations. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to meet all the women going into any fields involving math! For the past couple of years, I have been able to assist in teaching kids Irish Dance, which is another one of my passions. I love working with these kids and their parents. While showing compassion to these kids may be difficult at times, the reward is definitely worth it! Being able to help others in that way has really elevated my interest in health science. Once I finish this internship, I'm hoping to go into the EMT program at MTECH, and I'm looking into becoming a midwife or Doula as well.
