Office of the Executive Vice President, Shri Gopall. As the Sustainability Executive under the Executive Vice President, I spearhead projects and initiatives relating to sustianability on campus with the support of my sustainability team. Some project that we've worked on include organizing a clothing drive, a greek row cleanup after a game day, supporting a bill that advocated for clean energy by divesting in fossil fuels across all UC campuses by 2030, and worked with CalDining to research more sustainable food options that were sourced from sustainable farms that did not practice animal cruelty in order to help UC Berkeley move away from Tyson Foods as a partner. Currently, we're working on projects relating to sustainable and circular consumption within the Panhellenic Community (sororities + greek life) and implementing reusable cups into greek life parties in order to reduce single use plastic.

As the Vice President of Programming of the Panhellenic Executive Council, I plan, organzine, and create events across all 13 sororities at UC Berkeley, encompassing around 2,000 members. During my term, I created and designed a clothing rental website for members of the panhellenic community, aimed at targeting the massive problem of overconsumption within the fast fashion industry and promoting sustainable, circular fashion. This website aims to deepen the panhellenic community whilst also encouraging the practice of sustainable consumption habits.

The FarmLink Project is a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting food hunger and food insecurity in America. As a food programs fellow, I supported the FarmLink's project of ending food hunger in America by connecting with local farmers to ask them if they had any excess surplus, which would then be redirected towards a local food bank instead of into landfills, helping to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions.

As a Sustainability Research and Communications Director, I led weekly team meetings that supported the Global Climate Pledge initiative under the US Green Chamber of Commerce. I mainly created toolkits for businesses as the US Green Chamber of Commerce is an environmental consulting firm. I created toolkits that related to topics of responsible tourism, microplastics, ocean protection, and agriculture.

As an Associate for the UC Green New Deal Projects team of the Eco-Office, I worked with fellow team members to implement projects related to sustainability and environmentalism at UC Berkeley. Some of these projects included supporting the electrification of the cogeneration plant at Berkeley, ensuring that a new data science building at Berkeley will be LEED certified, and working towards implementing a climate literacy requirement to students.
