My passion lies in helping people achieve and maintain lifelong wellbeing, not just through my everyday work as a Financial Planner, but also through collaboration and supporting others working towards the same goal.Wellbeing, as defined by "Wellbeing – The Five Essential Elements" by Rath and Harter, comprises five key aspects:• Career Wellbeing• Social Wellbeing• Financial Wellbeing• Physical Wellbeing• Community WellbeingI like to think of these elements as a metaphorical pyramid, with Financial Wellbeing serving as the foundation. While the other elements affect the pyramid's integrity, an imbalance in any one aspect can lead to collapse when pressure is applied. Balance is essential in life.I am passionate about using the technical expertise I have as a Financial Planner to build a strong plan for my clients, but this alone should simply be the hygiene standard for modern day advice! Using wellbeing awareness and coaching skills are powerful tools for helping people become happier, not just wealthier. A great plan can show people their options and empower them to be in the driving seat of their lives. Perhaps they’d pursue some philanthropic passions or even support a career change! In April 2023, I joined Ovation Finance, drawn by their alignment with my values and passions (incl. BCorp and Employee Ownership). Their commitment to industry groups like NextGen Planners and the Institute of Financial Wellbeing (IFW), which was the brainchild of Director Tom Morris and Founder Chris Budd, resonated with me. Chris Budd's books, "The Financial Wellbeing Book" and "The Four Cornerstones of Financial Wellbeing" offer valuable insights that guide my work with clients now.According to the FCA, approximately 8% (4.1 million) UK adults have received financial advice. Promoting change from within our industry and encouraging other advisers/planners to shift their focus could literally change the life of millions.Imagine if we could help the other 92%!At present, we are developing a program to help businesses educate their employees about wellbeing.
