Known for her pursuit of evidence, advocacy, and impact to build community capacity that breaks down barriers and increases opportunities for women and girls as leaders and players in sport.As an internationally recognised scholar, Clare is passionate to create 'no boundaries' and in doing so provide evidence and advice to international, national and state organisations to enhance their capacity. Examples include: co-led a national roadmap to assist organisations build capacity to embrace women and girls in sport; co-facilitated a national policy framework for women in sport; created a high level women in sport strategy for Sport Australia; member on the Victorian Ministerial Inquiry for Women and Girls in Sport and Active Recreation; and advisor for three State/Territory Governments on infrastructure and systems to encourage women and girls in sport. Clare co-initiated projects in South East Asia to build capacity of sport organisations to empower women as leaders.In recognition of creating change, Clare was inducted into the Victorian Women’s Honour Roll (2018), recognised as a Change our Game role model by the Victorian Minister for Sport (2016) and a chapter was dedicated to her in the book Oceania inspirational women: Making a difference in physical education, sport and dance.Examples of current and previous key or Board positions include: Director, Oceania Gymnastics Union; Director, Gymnastics Australia; President Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand; Ambassador Victorian Women’s Honor Roll; State Minister of Sport, Women and Girls Advisory Group; Director, Gymnastics Victoria (inc.Chair Governance Committee); Nominated delegate World Association Sport Management; and Acting Head of School, Sport and Exercise Science, Victoria University.
