Working as a Clinical Psychologist with Adults with Learning Disabilities, as part of a multi-disciplinary team. I work with individual cases, directly (for assessment and therapeutic work), drawing on a variety of Psychological models. I also am involved in a wide range of consultancy work (both clinically and at a systems level), offering advice to qualified and unqualified staff, and offering a Psychological perspective on their work. In particular, I provide intensive support to a specialist Forensic / Challenging Behaviour Unit, reducing the need for costly Out of Area Placements.I manage and supervise the work of other members of staff within the Psychology Team and in the wider multi-disciplinary team.I am often involved in reviewing and adapting our team processes. I deliver training with the aim of educating others about Learning Disabilities, and the role of Clinical Psychology within the field.I am skilled in the use of cognitive assessment, and the integration of this information into a psychological formulation.I am always aware of the need for ongoing risk assessment and risk management. I am the Safeguarding Adult Manager for my team.In February 2015, I gained accreditation as a user of the DISCO (Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders) Autism Diagnostic Assessment.I am registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health Professions Council.

Working as a Clinical Psychologist in a multi-disciplinary team, with adults with Learning Disabilities. Teaching, training, clinical and cognitive assessment, therapeutic work and consultancy undertaken.

3-year full-time Doctoral course in Clinical Psychology. Work comprised academic, research and clinical assignments, as well as completion of 4 core NHS placements, and elective placement. Course accredited by the British Psychological Society, and the Health Professions Council.

Working in a busy adult neuropsychiatry in- and out-patient service. Neuropsychological assessments used to help diagnose and track neuropsychological functioning of patients with mental health issues, neurological conditions, and patients who had suffered brain injuries. Also completed some therapeutic work using behavioural models.

Working in an Older Adult Psychiatry Research facility with community-based clients. Cognitive assessment and staff interviews were completed to track the course of functioning throughout dementia on various types of psychoactive medication. Some advice was given to staff around how to manage behaviour of clients with dementia.

Working on a research project into mental health problems (in particular, Psychosis) in adults with Learning Disabilities. Main role was to collect and analyse data from informant interviews about service users' life events and mental health indicators.
