In this position I updated drawings using Solidworks, created and printed 3D models, tested prototypes, and attended project development meetings for aerospace inspection technology. A project I worked on is a button design for detachable parts of upcoming prototypes. I researched spring force and ergonomics with buttons in regards to specific fingers. Additionally I calculated spring force taking into account spring length, type of springs, and spring force. I used 3D printed parts to validate fit and testing spring force. I created the models in Solidworks and created drawings to be released and quoted. Another main project I worked on is case design and testing for purchasing and shipping in order safely transport our products.

I am apart of the test stand subgroup which is currently constructing a stand to hold a liquid propulsion engine and tanks in order to execute testing procedures. I work on designing the test stand using Fusion 360. I designed a bracket in order to hold the liquid propulsion engine in place during testing. I also work on machining components for the test stand.

In this position I was apart of a team to learn how to and construct rockets from start to finish. As a member of the payloads subgroup I designed components of the polycarbonate payload section. This includes designing components to hold the camera in place and running tests of battery life to conclude at which point we need to turn on the camera in order to have adequate battery to record the entirety of the launch.

I was taught how to run social media accounts and marketing campaigns for the program. I learned how to plan and manage events which allowed me to further develop my communication and project management skills.In August 2023 to May 2024 I was Director of Marketing and Social Media. In addition to this I was Junior Event Planner. As Director of Marketing I created posters, newsletters and social media marketing campaigns. As Junior Event Planner I planned a Youth Outreach event called Engineering Clue. This allowed me tp development my project management, time management and communication skills. Additionally I assisted with WE Retreat which is the accepted students event for women admitted into the Kate Gleason College of Engineering.
