About Clare Gunther

Through my career experiences, I have learned the importance of stewardship and developing ongoing relationships with supporters, ones that go beyond submitting proposals and completing reports. I began my career as a journalist, where I learned to write quickly, tell compelling stories and make complex topics understandable to a broad audience. From there, I moved to grants management and grant writing, meaning I have experienced philanthropy from both sides of the table. My work as a development director requires the ability to think clearly and act quickly, always mindful of how actions support the organization’s mission, budget and stakeholder engagement.Specialties: Donor cultivation, grant research, and writing; internal and external communications; sponsorship and volunteer cultivation,; development writing; program design and management,; community relations; media relations
