Future RAN architecture, LTE, WiFi, VoLTE etc

Initialed the C-RAN (or Cloud Radio Access Network) project, which is disruptive to today's BTS implementation and deployment architecture, making use of use IA platform to build centralized, collaborative, cloud-based radio access system (e.g. LTE base stations). I used my knowledge obtained in both computer and telecom industry to address some of the most difficult challenges of mobile network, including surging mobile data traffic, flexible operation and ever increasing cost pressure. This project is very successful and got strong support from industry including Intel, IBM, ALU, Huawei, ZTE etc. Now the concept of Cloud RAN has been accepted by more and more leading operators, and become part of the ETSI Network Function Virtualization concept.

Advanced wireless technologies research and standardization for the 4G system like WiMAX and LTE. Major focus is physical layer and low MAC layer algorithm development and evaluation.Served as co-chairman of the interference mitigation standard drafting group in IEEE 802.16m (WiMAX) organization. Hold about 10 patents with some adopted by the WiMAX standard.

Worked in the Panasonic Mobile Communication's Labs branch in Beijing, China, started my research on 4G technology like MIMO and OFDM in wireless communication.
