Product Manager for the Analytics Infrastructure org at Airbnb. Primary focus is Minerva, Airbnb's metrics platform and semantic layer for offline data. Minerva serves 4,000 data practitioners and data consumers at Airbnb. It powers a wide variety of Analytics, Experimentation, and Business Reporting use cases across the company including Guest, Host, Marketplace, Trust, Payments, Customer Support, and Finance. It is the key infrastructure product for defining and consuming trustworthy data at Airbnb.

Driving data strategy initiatives across Data Quality, Data Governance, and Data Management.- Proposed, conceptualized, and developed a major pivot to Airbnb’s data quality strategy, scaling DQ to the 99% of data that previously had no quality indicators.- Conceptualized and led the cross-functional development and launch of Airbnb’s first company-wide Data Quality Score. The DQ Score completely unlocked comprehensive data quality visibility and actionability, and was immediately adopted as a company-wide Tech OKR.

Formally converted from DS to the new Analytics Engineering function, founding member of the Central Analytics Engineering team.- Partnered closely with the Head of Analytics Engineering to develop and establish the Analytics Engineering (AE) function. Developed the two technical interviews for AE, authored IC personas and leveling guidance, and contributed to the formal definition and scoping of the role.- Designed and architected company-wide data assets (metrics, dimensions, self-serve analytics resources for data consumers)- Collaborated with Data Platform teams to improve critical internal data tools such as our Metrics Framework, BI Tooling, and Data Exploration products. - Identified major gaps in company data governance strategy and developed compliant solutions for implementing retention across complex table types and the rare instances of all-time data points.

On the Central Strategy & Insights team, I worked across several verticals, developing comprehensive data expertise across the full breadth of Airbnb’s business, and Airbnb’s end-to-end data ecosystem.- Business Analytics. Developed the most-utilized dashboard in Airbnb history with over 220 unique data visualizations, 18,000 dashboard views and 1.5k distinct viewers. Dashboard and underlying data uncovered several data-backed strategic pivots to support business recovery during COVID.- Metrics and Reporting Architecture. Delivered all underlying data and backend reporting infrastructure to power the business-wide Metrics Report with over 600 weekly data points. Enabled data-driven Executive Business Reviews for over two years.- IPO Readiness and Investor RelationsIdentified the narratives and analyses most critical to present to investors as part of our S-1 IPO registration statement. Submitted over 600 revisions and provided data backups for 190+ data statements in the S-1. Authored every Airbnb metric and dimension definition included in the S-1.Contributed to the development of critical high-quality data models that remain the key business metrics published in every Airbnb financial disclosure to the SEC (Gross Booking Value, Nights Booked, Active Listings).

Class Action Suit Against a Top 3 Global Depositary Bank for Unfavorable FX Conversions on ADR Dividend Payments• Coordinated a team of five analysts to conduct quantitative analyses, draft and fact-check reports, and create exhibits for four 50+ page expert reports and four expert depositions. Executed these tasks in only three months while operating under challenging time constraints and deadlines. • Produced data-driven sensitivity analysis for a dynamic damages estimate model, which helped catalyze case settlement.

Class Action Suit Against Major Electronic Trading Broker with Market Cap of $30B+ for Inferior Order Execution• Managed analyst team and collaborated with senior staff, expert, and client to write four data-intensive expert reports and create corresponding exhibits and data appendices. Worked directly with expert and client to prepare for eight depositions. • Analyzed Trading Broker Order Data against Market Trades and Quotes (TAQ) Data in SAS and Netezza SQL to quantify order execution quality. Mentored and guided younger analysts to develop their programming skills and technical finance knowledge.

• Directed and coordinated office-wide recruiting efforts, including campus outreach and events, interviews, and candidate evaluation for >600 full-time analyst candidates. • Executed this position while maintaining my casework responsibilities as a Senior Analyst.

Regulatory Investigation of Alleged Foreign Exchange (FX) Market Manipulation by a Top Global Investment Bank• Developed algorithms in SQL and SAS to analyze >5 billion rows of FX trading data to identify patterns of market manipulative trading behaviors and potential misconduct by FX traders.• Synthesized quantitative data analysis, complex financial concepts, and qualitative analyses of FX traders’ internal communications to assist the Department of Justice, Federal Reserve, European Commission, and other government regulators in determining whether the Bank had committed trading misconduct.• Created presentations and talking points to communicate analytical findings to attorneys and regulators.Public Policy Research for the SEC• Analyzed SEC dataset consisting of every equity trade in the stock market since 2009 (approximately 86 billion trades) to assess how different regulations affect magnitude and frequency of extreme movements in security prices.• The SEC’s Division of Economic and Risk Analysis published results in whitepaper linked below.
