At American Modern I analyzed large amounts of data to create well rounded insurance products, with a specialty in the Homeowners Program. I analyzed current Homeowners insurance products and make sure we are priced adequately and competitively in the market. At American Modern my duties were predominantly focused on analyzing current insurance products against competitor offerings. I analyzed competitor insurance filings to calculate competitor rates and completed competitor comparisons to provide input for product placement against competitors. I also compiled many different types of exhibits for various departmental use such as Dwelling Fire Experience Exhibits or Cognos Exhibits for Sales. Olivetree Research is a Market Research Consulting Firm in Cincinnati Ohio that works with a variety of companies to make long-term business decisions, such as rebranding and product development. I worked directly under the President of Olivetree Research. My responsibilities included a variety of tasks, from attending various focus groups and client meetings as well as summarizing and analyzing focus group data for client use. I wrote a proposal to suggest to clients what business decision to make based off of the research and data from the focus group. I also conducted my own research through various consumer websites to collect data on products.

I worked with the student community who lived on campus and in the campus apartments. My responsibilities included planning programs and activities for the students, mediating through student conflicts, answering questions, and keeping residents informed about upcoming events on campus. I also worked duty hours and was on call and accessible at those times for emergencies or medical concerns. Throughout the summer I worked with interns and conference groups staying on campus with anything they might need. I helped organize and facilitate check ins for students and interns moving in as well as check outs.
