Profile bio

About Cristina Larrea, Ma

I greatly acknowledge that my professional career is part of my personal mission in our society. I have a solid commitment towards sustainable development, economic and financial inclusion. I am an international development professional with more than twenty years of strong program and team management and strategic direction experience, which includes seven years of field work in Chiapas’ rain-forest managing sustainable development initiatives with rural indigenous communities and supporting the growth of agricultural start-ups. The field level experience with isolated communities in a post-conflict scenario allowed me to develop my sense of observation and prudence to address complex challenges that touch cultural beliefs and behaviors, sudden political unrest and social conflict. Through the process, I developed strong strategic vision skills, critical to know how to analyse and react in a changing situation, adapt the action plan and act promptly or smoothly as required. My leadership skills and versatility were also developed significantly through this journey. I learned the respect to cultural diversity and the crucial role of cultural identity and interculturalism for a successful development process. A most valuable experience for which I am very grateful of. My recent assignments in Canada with missions overseas have provided me with significant experiences and solid knowledge on financial inclusion and impact investing in agriculture SMEs in emerging economies. The provision of key market information for investors, the improvement of SMEs' bankability through capacity building, and the proposition of successful matches between investors and SMEs have been at the core of my responsibilities.I am person that feels very comfortable at building relationships with diverse stakeholders, from government agencies, private investors to community based organizations. I have a strong capacity of adaptation and very keen on learning for my own evolution and best performance.

Listed skills include Sustainable Development, International Development, Project Management, Strategic Planning, and 16 others.
