Claude Mathieu, EMLyon Graduate has worked in chemical, petrochemical and automobile industry for the Belgian Group Solvay for 25 years. He then furthered his career in the automobile industry with the German group Mann+Hummel for the last 15 years and has progressively begun financial investments in different start-ups through his Company, La Chaise Invest. After 10 years spent in France, Claude Mathieu went on to have an international career. The last 30 years, he’s spent living with his family abroad in different countries : Belgium, Singapore, U.S.A., South Korea and Thailand where he is currently living for the second time. He has acquired a solid experience in business development and management of industrial entities. Here is a summary of the principle accomplishments of his career :• In Europe, he established new manufacturing business in Lublin, Poland and Pitesti, Romania. Played an active role in the creation of the joint venture between Solvay and Plastic Omnium. Led and sold Solvay’s Air Induction System and Technical Parts business unit.• In South America, he negotiated take over of partner equity in joint venture in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He established 2 new businesses in Brazil, in Curitiba and Jundiai• In North America, Claude led Mann + Hummel USA as CEO and served as Chairman of the Board for Mann + Hummel Mexico• In Asia, served as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Vinythai, a joint venture of Solvay in Thailand, taking the company public on the Bangkok stock exchange. Acquired Nissan assets for plastic fuel tanks production in Japan. Claude Mathieu also led Mann + Hummel Korea as President and CEO, presiding over the merger between 2 companies in Korea. Establishment of two manufacturing business in Thailand and one in Indonesia.Claude Mathieu was a member of the Invest Korea Advisory Council (IKAC) and was awarded the « Order of Industrial Service Merit », Silver Tower rank, by the Korean government.
