I am a licensed Professional Engineer, LEED Accredited Professional, and LEED for Homes Green Rater who provides sustainability consulting and project management at dbHMS. As a LEED Accredited Professional, I work with project teams in developing strategies to meet their sustainability goals and lead the team to achieving those goals throughout the design and construction process. Much of my work is guiding projects through the LEED rating systems, but I have worked on various other building certifications, including Green Globes, Enterprise Green Communities, Living Building Challenge, and ENERGY STAR for Buildings. My work with LEED is complemented by my experience as an internal reviewer of LEED projects submitted to the GBCI for certification. I have overseen projects ranging from core and shell developments to large-scale, multi-family housing. I currently lead the Sustainability Planning Studio at dbHMS, a team of three providing sustainability consulting services. Prior to joining dbHMS, I worked as a structural engineer at Thornton Tomasetti. I spent my time in the office designing and modeling both large and small projects, and became very adept at using various forms of BIM. Additionally, I spent time working with the Specialty Structures group, during which I designed fabric and steel/glass projects. In my spare time in Chicago, I volunteered with the USGBC Illinois Chapter’s Emerging Professionals group, Rebuilding Together Chicago, and Designs for Dignity. I love to bring my sustainability knowledge home and am often found working on projects like retrofitting my toilet or installing low flow fixtures. I love to garden (semi-successfully), travel, read, and bake bread.
