I build equity and inclusion teams to serve marginalized members in our educational community--English Language Learners, Title 1 and Immigrant students and families.Most recently with COVID19, my responsibilities are to activate and leverage all multilingual resources to support our district’s top seven languages in an equitable and inclusive manner. I work to orchestrate the connections, tools and resources that support all families but more intentionally pay attention to some of AUSD’s most vulnerable communities-- ELD and Title 1 families. I partner with community based organizations to ensure families have access to food, social services and supports. I have invested the last 19 years of my career supporting leaders in engaging community and leveraging partnerships; especially among families of color. I serve as a program and grant management administrator. I am committed to social justice, building pathways to opportunity, and empowerment through the equity programs I support in Alameda. I regularly share our findings and best practices with educators in the Bay Area, California and in National conferences and panel speaking engagements.I believe that all of our work must follow a relational approach if we are to build community trust, collaboration and partnership. Equity and Inclusion must stem from those fundamental practices and mindset. I work with leading child development experts at West Ed’s Regional Equity Center, Great Schools, and the Harvard School of Education.
