As a recent Environmental Studies graduate and Artculaiting Techincal Agrologists (ATAg) I have hands-on experience in water quality research, manual snow surveying, and heavy-duty mechanics. Together, these experiences have allowed me to develop a unique and diverse blend of technical, analytical, problem-solving, management and critical thinking skills. As a water Quality Research Assistant for the University of the Fraser Valley, I developed my skills in environmental field techniques, data collection, monitoring, analysis, research, and report writing. I assisted in organizing and conducting fieldwork to assess water quality for world-class research institutions such as Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, University of Zurich and Stó:lō Research and Resource Management Centre.As a Manual Snow Surveyor, I conducted water equivalency snow surveys at four sites in the southern Okanagan for water resource management. This role involved operating vehicles, power equipment, and snowmobiles in challenging winter conditions, navigating avalanche terrain, and conducting strenuous work safely.Beyond the environmental field, I spent several years as a Heavy Duty Mechanic-Apprentice specializing in hydraulic systems. I maintained a world-class fleet of log barges, travelling to remote BC locations by helicopter, plane and water taxi. This high-pressure role required critical thinking, problem-solving and independent project management, ultimately shaping me into the technical and problem-solving person I am today.I hold several relevant environmental certifications, including four Red Cross wilderness first aid certifications, an AST-1 Avalanche certification, and Wildlife Awareness and Safety training. I also earned a 150-hour Management Skills Certificate at the University of the Fraser Valley, enhancing my project management and leadership skills.
