Hired to manage the four facilities of The Bella Vita, an eating disorder care center. The owner and president passed away and the estate hired me to run operations and crisis manage the organization. Managed the Revenue Cycle, HR, Marketing and Operations, while coordinating with an accounting firm and law firm to see the company through its crisis until the company could be sold.

-Liaison between CHLA and consultants in ED process redesign to lower wait times by 60 minutes and Left Without Being Seen dropped from 12%, in previous flu season, to 1.6% -Analyzed dozens of cost centers for hospital-wide budget as an analyst in Decision Support Services for the fiscal year 2018 -Managed 17 various projects in the Heart Institute, capturing a thorough knowledge of the service line-Tackled a “no-charge” report for the cardiology department, capturing unbilled 445 visits; worked with physicians and the EMR team to make the proper corrections and get the claims out-Led the transition from in-house to outsourced LOA processing for all 5,500 employees, coordinated between the HR, IT, legal departments at CHLA, and the third party HR data warehouse, navigating several different work cultures while meeting our deadlines -Managed the hiring process for the FY2018 Administrative Fellows

A major mistake in billing had gone unnoticed for several months. I discovered the mistake, communicated it’s financial impact to the administrators and they made the necessary corrections right away -Gained firsthand experience assisting a large corporation to integrate smaller businesses’

Worked with the business office manager and facility administration to: -Analyzed more than 30 insurances and learned their distinct nuances-Collected approximately $600,000 from about 350 cases every month-Streamlined record keeping of patient payments, making an easier analysis of accounts receivable -Followed up on approximately 25 accounts a day by personally calling debtors and helped them to develop a manageable payment plan-Produced reports for billing and month end accounting. My reports were always turned in on time, even if it meant staying extra hours into the night or on weekends.-Coordinated with materials manager to bill for surgical implants-Great experience working side by side with administrators-Negotiated contractual discounts down from 30% to 5% and from getting paid in 30 business days to 10. -Decreased unpaid A/R over 5 months from 15% to 5% in 2 months after starting -Created an analysis spreadsheet, which compared front end versus back end payment, this led to improved front-end collection-Handled enrollment process for the Department of Labor and other insurances.
