Taught sixth grade reading and science, departmentalizing with another section of sixth grade. Taught fifth grade. Served as a grade level facilitator, the school’s Positive Behavior Support Committee, and SIT teams. Served on the district’s TITLE I Improvement Committee. Maintained the building's professional development blog.Highlights:◆ Helped implement four themed parent nights on math, reading, art, and positive behavior support and sponsored 4/5th grade monthly book club.◆ Awarded a $500 Topeka Public Schools Foundation grant to incorporate iPods into my classroom ◆ Piloted FOSS inquiry-based science adoption

Lead the youth ministries of the church, including leading senior high youth group each Sunday evening and junior high confirmation classes each Wednesday, organizing a yearly summer mission trip for the senior high youth, and oversee youth general fund and memorial fund items and organize fund raising.Organization oversight of the 5:00 contemporary worship serivceServed on the facilities implementation committee, developing a program of ministry needs, meeting with architects to create a master plan for the building and grounds. Notable contributions include developing a mission statement for the youth program, giving the program focus and identity, and developing an active volunteer system of adults for the youth program. These volunteers include meal cooks, youth sponsors, confirmation adult guides, and senior high sponsors.
