While at S4 Retail Solutions, I worked closely with executives from Kroger to design, implement, test and document an algorithm for their coupon discounts for their POS system.

In one year, I automated these systems to work together seamlessly to save the company much time and money. These systems included a Customer Order Entry system for the sales representatives to place orders for every conceivable laminate counter-top design. The Order Entry system then searched the Inventory system to determine if materials were on hand. For those materials that were not on hand, the Vendor Order system collected the items necessary to complete the job and ordered these materials on a just-in-time scheduling basis. The Production system scheduled all orders due on a daily basis and provided a sorted, printed label system which allowed the warehouse staff to quickly pull materials, tag materials, and place materials into the production bins. A production line of manufactured items were also printed daily to allow tracking of each item by type and customer throughout the manufacturing process. Any damages were noted on the production line printout and reordered the same day to be rescheduled upon receipt of the materials. The Inventory and Vendor systems also communicated together to order all manufacturing supplies which were getting low and fell within the vendor lead times to automate reordering on an as-needed just-in-time basis.
