About Clay Cox
Experienced Biomedical Engineer with an interest in advancing novel biologics and immunogens into early phase clinical trials within the Duke Human Vaccine Institute’s cGMP Program. With over five years of experience within academic clinical translation institutes such as The Duke Human Vaccine Institute and The Wake Forest University Institute for Regenerative Medicine, I have found these unique innovative departments to be the perfect environment to provide a meaningful impact to improving patient outcomes while continually learning and growing alongside inquisitive minds found within these prestigious institutions. Following my B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, my continued curiosity and training have led me to be highly skilled in Good Manufacturing Practices, mammalian cell culture, aseptic technique, mRNA and recombinant protein immunogen manufacturing, process translation/scaling, and production of tissue engineered scaffolds and constructs. This foundational knowledge aided in both my pursuit and completion of my M.S. in Applied Biomedical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University to further specialize in the techniques and foundations for advancing biomedical innovations. Like all scientists and engineers, I am driven to continually learn and advance my skillset, and aim to translate the knowledge I continue to gain within the Duke Human Vaccine Institute to improve the development and production of products that can revolutionize the prevention and treatment landscape of a wide array of infectious diseases.
Listed skills include Good Documentation Practice, Microsoft Office, Solidworks, Aseptic Technique, and 9 others.
