Cybersecurity; an intriguing and challenging unit within the IT world.As the world of technology grows at a rapid pace, security has become a great concern. As black-hat hackers become more and more sophisticated with their malicious forms of attack, we need to constantly advance our means of protection to outpace their threats. After working in education for 7 years, my husband and I changed locations. I was looking to begin a new career that would combine my excitement for new information, technology and challenges. This came out to a simple equation: Love for new information + technology + challenges = CybersecurityI completed the Springboard Cybersecurity Career Track and obtained my Security+ certification. Currently, I am looking to join a team whom I can peer up with to secure ourselves against the forces of hacktivism.As a teacher, I taught my students that real success is using your capabilities to the fullest by challenging yourself to reach out of your comfort zone; to always be willing to learn, change and grow. Our mantra was “The more you know, the more places you will go.” Success in the security world is all about taking the same tools I used in the classroom; the same determination and commitment along with out-of-the-box thinking and flexibility to learn and try new ideas in our ever-changing world.
