Charlotte Bays is a third-year NERC ARIES DTP PhD candidate based at the Astromaterials Research Laboratory (Royal Holloway) and the Planetary Materials Group (Natural History Museum, London). She researches the evolution of extraterrestrial organic matter and volatiles in astromaterials under experimental conditions, working alongside colleagues from numerous institutions, including NASA and JAXA, to provide insights into solar system processes and a wider context to the emergence of life on Earth.
