UKFAll is a collaboration of global camera networks that aims to record meteors and fireballs and recover freshly fallen meteorites in the UK (ukfall.org.uk). We use these cameras to triangulate the path of the meteor and model both the strewn field and pre-atmospheric orbit, giving us information about the area in the solar system from which the object was derived, and the estimated search area. My role as part of this team, which comprises members from institutions such as the Natural History Museum (UK), Curtin University (Australia), numerous universities worldwide, observatories, and UK museums; is to review fireball footage and samples sent by the public, coordinate and facilitate field activities, compile and distribute meteorite recovery kits (including meteorite handling guides) and dissemination of safety and logistical information across the various search and recovery teams (including risk assessments), and public/media engagement.
